Tony award-winning actress Blythe Danner, whose career includes starring work in movies such as "To Wong Foo: Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar," as well as memorable roles as the long-suffering wife of Robert Duvall in "The Great Santini," Nick Nolte in "The Prince of Tides" and Robert DeNiro in "Meet the Parents," will join Emmy-winning writer-producer Tom Fontana ("St. Elsewhere," "Homicide: Life on the Street," "Oz") in a coaching session for Tulane University's theatre students May 9 from 11 to noon in McWilliams Hall, Room 104.

The session, which is open to the public, is part of the Bruce Paltrow Artist-In-Residence Program established by Tulane and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts|Riverfront (NOCCA|Riverfront) in honor of Paltrow, a Tulane graduate and the director of television hits such as "The White Shadow" and "St. Elsewhere."

Danner and Paltrow, who were married for 32 years until his death in 2002, are the parents of Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and director Jake Paltrow. In addition to the Tulane appearance, Danner and Fontana will also coach students and hold roundtable discussions with students and faculty members in the Theatre Arts department at NOCCA|Riverfront.
