Amnesty International will hold a rally to kick off its campaign to raise awareness of the genocide ravaging the Darfur region of Sudan. The rally will be held on the patio of PJ's Coffee House located on Tulane University's campus on the corner of Willow Street and McAlister Drive April 7 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The featured speaker will be Francis Bok, a member of the American Anti-Slavery Group and former child slave in Sudan. In addition to Bok, student and faculty members from the Tulane community will speak.
Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes will perform songs from their newly released album, Fear and Opera. Members of Tulane's campus radio station, WTUL 91.5 FM, will DJ the latter half of the event featuring Sudanese music.
