A National Book Award winner, a leading gene therapy researcher, a renowned glass artist and a prominent stock expert will illustrate the very best of Tulane University in a series of on-campus presentations March 17.
The presentations will be part of a three-day celebration kicking off "Promise and Distinction: The Campaign For Tulane University," the largest higher education fundraising campaign in Louisiana history. "Highlights of Tulane" events, which are free and open to the public, include:
- A glass blowing and casting demonstration and exhibition led by Tulane professor/artist Gene Koss. 11 a.m., Pace-Willson Glass Studio, Woldenberg Art Center;
- A lecture by award-winning author Ellen Gilchrist, Zale Writer-in-Residence, noon, Myra Clare Rogers Chapel;
- A presentation by Tulane professor Darwin Prockop, a national leader in the area of gene therapy, on the challenges and successes in gene therapy research, 1 p.m., Myra Clare Rogers Chapel;
- A presentation on Louisiana business and investment opportunities by dynamic business professor Peter Ricchiuti, 2 p.m., high-tech trading room in Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II.
