Don't touch that dial. This is the same Inside Tulane you are accustomed to receiving, but with a few significant changes. The publication has been redesigned by Megan Noller, the graphic designer in the Office of Publications who is also Inside's resident art director.
We think the updated look is cleaner, smarter and more readable. Editorially, we've tried to do the same thing. You'll notice that stories are more concise. Also, stories will no longer be organized by departments and will rarely continue from one page to the next.
These changes should not only make Inside Tulane more reader-friendly, but also will help streamline our production process, which is critical because we will now be publishing twice-a-month during the school year. This should lead to more timely coverage of news at Tulane.
The calendar of events in each issue (on pages 4 and 5) will also keep a semi-monthly schedule. Each calendar, however, will extend three weeks into the future to help readers plan their activities in advance.
Along the way, we'll be trying to keep Inside Tulane fresh and responsive to the community. The reader survey conducted this year was helpful in guiding us. Call or e-mail us to let us know what you think.
