January 1, 1998

Judith Zwolak

David Volk, a doctoral student in the international health and development department of the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, is helping to form a volunteer medical team for a two-week mission to Haiti from March 3-17, 1998.

Volk invites Tulane doctors to enlist in the mission. The Friends of the Children of Haiti, a small charitable organization based in Bartonville, Ill., is sponsoring the trip. Deacon Dick Hammond has been leading these annual medical missions to the Jacmel Diocese along Haitis southern coast for 15 years.

Volk will not be participating this year, but will answer any questions about past trips. He is available at 566-1737 or by e-mail at dvolk@mailhost.tcs. tulane.edu. For more information, contact: Eric Behrens by e-mail at ebehrens@daveworld.net, or Deacon Dick Hammond at 4007 W. Smithville Rd., Bartonville, Ill. 61607.
