The Newcomb Art Department of Tulane University will host its annual Holiday Art Sale on Friday (Nov. 30) and Saturday (Dec. 1). Held on campus in the Woldenberg Art Center’s Carroll Art Gallery, the shopping event features hand-blown glass ornaments, ceramic vessels, hand-printed gifts, paintings and sculpture made by art department faculty, students and alumni.

“The sale is a great chance for the New Orleans community to come to the art department, buy unique works of art, and support the studio art program at Tulane,” says Laura Richens, curator of the Carroll Gallery in the Newcomb Art Department.
“Faculty and students work together to create these works each year, as a group, and as individual artists. We have two-dimensional and three-dimensional works, functional and non-functional objects, all made by hand, including our ever-popular glass ornaments, unique ceramic vessels, paintings, photos and hand-printed works.”
The sale’s special Preview Party will be held for Newcomb Art Gallery members from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 29). Those interested in early shopping may purchase an individual membership to the Gallery that evening.
The sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
