Make a Difference Day

First-year students Jamie Albaum and Naomi Holland give a goat something to nibble on at the Hope Gardens plot of land in the Ninth Ward. The two joined other volunteers  who fanned out across the city on Tulane Make a Difference Day (Oct. 26) to help out in the community and collect hours for the Cowen Service Challenge. Along with feeding and caring for animals, students at Hope Gardens made signs, weeded and helped maintain the irrigation system, all the while learning about urban farming. Tulane Make a Difference Day was sponsored by the Tulane Center for Public Service and the Community Action Council of Tulane University Students (CACTUS).

It's feeding time in the chicken coop; junior A.J. Akpanikat does the honors.
