During Saturday’s (Sept. 22) football game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, support for injured Tulane football player Devon Walker transcended the Green Wave fan base and permeated the hearts of Ole Miss Rebels.

As a result, the Devon Walker Fund grossed $35,000 through donations and the sale of T-shirts and wristbands.

"I want to thank each of the student-athletes who volunteered their time at various locations throughout the Superdome," said Sue Bower, associate athletic director for external operations.

"Both Tulane and Ole Miss fans stepped up big time."

Approximately 1,375 T-shirts were sold during the game.

Bower says she is committed to having a Devon Walker Fund presence at the Superdome for the remainder of the Green Wave football season.

Tulane will play the University of Louisiana–Monroe on Saturday (Sept. 29) at 2:30 p.m. in the Superdome.
