Dr. Greg Stewart, director of Sports Medicine for Tulane University Athletics, is scheduled to participate in a live discussion about football safety and concussions on “HuffPost Live” Thursday (Sept. 19) morning. The 30-minute segment, titled “Helmet To Helmet: Changing Football,” is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. CDT on the “HuffPost Live” website.
Earlier this week in New York, a high school football player died from a helmet-to-helmet hit, marking the second time in less than a month that a high-school player has died from injuries suffered on the field.
This comes at a time when awareness is increasing about the long-term damage that can result from playing the game.
Panelists will discuss what can be done to make football safer and more sustainable.
Stewart also leads the Tulane University NFL Neurological Care Program for retired players.
