This summer, a stealth operation was on the Tulane University campus. Google was mapping our grid with the odd, bug-eyed Google cam. Now, the new update of Street View is live.

You can take a virtual tour of the Tulane campus with Street View to see how it looks through Google’s 360-degree fish-eye lenses.

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu gave Tulane a shout-out in his blog (powered by Google, natch) saying our university is “ranked among the top schools in the U.S.”

It is with pride that we New Orleanians show off our city, seven years after Hurricane Katrina.

Keith Brannon, assistant director of public relations at Tulane, says the new map gives him vertigo, but “I am just happy I can now give directions using the map that will show people (reporters) exactly where we need to meet.”
