Students on the Tulane University uptown campus are attending classes until 5 p.m. today (Aug. 27), when the university closes in preparation for Hurricane Isaac. The storm is forecast to make landfall on the southeast Louisiana coast late Tuesday. All students who live on campus will shelter in place at the university.

The university is providing free shuttle bus service to the airport for students who wish to fly out today. Airport shuttles, which depart from Bruff Commons, began at 9 a.m. and will also leave at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The university is scheduled to reopen on Thursday (Aug. 30).
