Many college students arrive (and eventually graduate) with a specific career in mind. But for some Tulane University alumni, choosing a career that’s “outside the box” really pays off.

While becoming a doctor or an accountant might be a well-paved trail to a comfortable income, those who stray away from the beaten path can find fun and rewarding careers that truly make them happy.

If you are a current student or alumnus with a unique career like our friends over at Liberty Cheesesteaks, or the ladies of Stoney Clover Lane jewelry, the Insider would like to hear from you!

Send an email describing your career and you could be featured in the Insider’s “Careers Outside the Box” series beginning next week and continuing throughout the summer.

Next week we’ll chat with Sarah Covert, a 2005 graduate with degrees in psychology and women’s studies. Her career — pet sitting.
