Weight Watchers at Work

Each Weight Watchers at Work group at Tulane University must have 15 people or more. Weight Watchers will accept cash, a credit card or check (or an installment plan with three payments by check) for the 12-week fee.

Tulane University staff members have lost a half-ton of weight this spring. Attendees at the weekly Weight Watchers at Work programs have lost a total of nearly 1,000 pounds during the 12-week programs that began around Mardi Gras.

There are now Weight Watchers at Work groups on the uptown campus, downtown campus, University Square (free parking) and the Tulane National Primate Research Center. New 12-week sessions will begin in June.

“It’s all about moderation,” says Lovone Moore, one of the professional Weight Watchers leaders, who has lost 85 lbs. and kept it off for six years. “We have to feel satisfied; we can’t deprive ourselves or we won’t stick with it.”

Moore says she was “just fed up” when she decided to lose the weight. “Diabetes runs in my family. My mother passed away last year from complications of diabetes. I didn’t want that for me or for my kids.”

Come to one of the information sessions to find out about Weight Watchers, ask questions, meet the group’s professional Weight Watchers leader and register. Leaders may offer door prizes and sample Weight Watchers snacks.
