Dear Class of 2011,
The days of scheduling work hours around the time you prefer to wake up will soon come to an end along with stints in community showers and not-so-spacious dorm rooms. To ease the anticipation of Commencement, which doesn’t occur until May 12, be sure to take part in Grad Fest 2011.
Don’t worry, you aren’t the only one wondering where to purchase a cap and gown and personalized announcements for your parents to send to all their friends. It can get hectic juggling these tasks along with class projects and finals, but a stop at Grad Fest tomorrow (March 15) and Wednesday (March 16) will set you up with everything you’ll need to prepare for the big day. Grad Fest takes place in room 212 of the Lavin Bernick Center from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
If you happen to have some free time following Grad Fest, there are several entertaining events taking place on campus this week. For those who prefer an off-campus venue, there are opportunities for the Tulane community to take in a New Orleans Hornets basketball game with discounts!
Purchase your group-rate tickets by visiting the Hornets’ group experience website and scroll down for “Tulane Drop-In Center.” The Hornets will donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Drop-In Center for youth who live on the streets. The special offer code is TULANE.
Purchase tickets to the April 8th match against the Phoenix Suns by selecting “Tulane Night” from the list. You’ll be a part of Tulane Night at the Hive sponsored by the Tulane Sports Business Association. Free transportation will be provided to and from the game and the first 100 people to purchase tickets receive a free T-shirt! The special offer code is TULANE.
