Michael A. Fitts

In this video, meet Michael A. Fitts, who will become the 15th president of Tulane University on July 1.

Fitts talks about his passion for the study of law, how his time serving as dean of the law school at the University of Pennsylvania has prepared him to lead an institution, the future of high education and what attracted him to Tulane University.

Tulane University’s academic excellence, its prestige and commitment to scholarship, research and service were among the factors that drew him to the university, in addition to the fact that it is situated in “one of the most exciting cities in the world,” he says.

The video was shot on Tuesday (Feb. 4), the day Fitts was introduced to the community at a press announcement.
