Frank Tipler, a Tulane professor of mathematics, was recently added to the Science Hall of Fame and is listed among the most famous scientists of the last 200 years. He is No. 432 on the list that ranks Charles Darwin as No. 2 and Albert Einstein as No. 3. The full list includes 4,169 names and was compiled and published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. To find out who’s number one on the list click here.

The newly named director of the Miss New Orleans Pageant Organization is 2007 Tulane alumna and former Green Wave cheerleader Jennifer Connor. Connor, who was crowned Miss Louisiana United States in 2010, is seeking Tulane women interested in competing in the organization’s 80th annual Miss New Orleans Pageant to be held on April 17, 2011, at the Landmark Hotel in Metairie, La. Tulane’s Super Bowl XLV Raffle offers a chance to win two tickets to attend the NFL championship game between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dallas, while benefiting the university through the proceeds that are generated. The drawing will be held on Wednesday (Feb. 2) during halftime at the Tulane men’s basketball game.
