Renowned musicians David Finckel, cellist, and Wu Han, pianist, will perform the complete cycle of Beethoven's cello-piano duets tonight (Jan. 25) for the New Orleans Friends of Music concert at Tulane.
The concert is at 8 p.m. in Dixon Hall on the uptown campus, and Tulane students receive free tickets with a student ID.
The two musicians, currently co-directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, are among the most influential chamber musicians in the world.
Tickets for the subscription-series concert are available on an individual basis for $25, on-line at the Friends of Music website, by calling 504-895-0690, or at the door on the evening of the performance.
John Joyce, associate professor of music, will present a free lecture at 7 p.m. before the concert as part of the group's ongoing educational program. Friends of Music is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing world-class chamber music to New Orleans.
