WHAT: As more cases of H1N1 influenza virus are reported, it is vital that the public have credible, science-based analysis of the latest developments in this emerging public health issue.
Experts from both the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine as well as the School of Medicine are monitoring the situation and are available for media interviews for facts-based analysis of the virus and its risks to the public.
WHO: Dr. Maureen Lichtveld, an expert in disaster management, is leading the Tulane University Flu Emergency Task Force of university doctors and scientists to monitor and coordinate information among researchers, clinicians, epidemiologists and the wider public health community.
