Program description: Through the “Read to Me Mommy” will provide incarcerated mothers an opportunity to improve their literacy skills and connect to their children through being videoed reading a book to their child and presenting the book and DVD to the child.

Program description: Eden House is a newly created 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. It will begin as a house for six women who have been commercially and sexually exploited. It will be a free two year residential program based on Magadalene House in Nashville, TN. The program includes two years of housing, food, medical and dental needs, therapy, education and job training, all without charge or taking any government funding. The home functions without 24-hour live-in staff, relying on residents to create a supportive community, maintain recovery, and share household tasks. Women begin the program from prison, the streets and from across the Southeast and the country.

Program description: Metropolitan Center for Women and Children focuses on both prevention and intervention of sexual assault and domestic violence. Intervention services include shelter, advocacy, 24 hour crisis line, medical and legal advocacy, counseling and support groups. Prevention efforts focus on education about domestic violence and sexual assault issues through traditional and non-traditional venues: awareness days, community presentations, the web site, brochures, radio spots, television spots and videos.
