Project Name: Sexual Assault and Abuse Advocacy: Teen Survivor Support Group

Program Description: Through the “Sexual Assault and Abuse Advocacy: Teen Survivor Support Group”, METRO will provide teen sexual assault survivors with a needed peer support group.

Program Description: These funds will support and sustain holistic health and social justice programing at Hagar’s House, a sanctuary for women and children in New Orleans that provides a residential community, resource assistance, and a safe space to transition into permanent housing. The holistic programing consists of community dinners, maintaining an organic garden, weekly yoga classes and an all-women’s triathlon. The social justice programming consists of movie nights and conversations about an assortment of issues within social justice.

Program Description: Smiles 2 Geaux’s mission is to improve oral health care of underserved and disadvantaged populations in New Orleans. They provide oral healthcare to all populations regardless of age, socioeconomic status or location within Louisiana. Their school-based programs not only treat current oral conditions but also focus on oral health education and disease prevention.
