Sunday, April 18, 11am
Atrium, Caroline Richardson Building

Gay Leonardt will be giving a short talk on Olive Leonardt, her grandmother, and Hilda Phelps Hammond who wrote the book, "Shaking Up Prohibition" in 1929. The text of "Shaking Up Prohibition" very much reflects the classical education both women received at Newcomb. It begins with a pun on John Dryden's Absalom and Architophel. The event is sponsored by the Newcomb Archives. Coffee punch will be served.
