Newcomb Regional Book Clubs

Spring 2011 marked the first gatherings of the Newcomb Book Club. These evenings of friendship and conversation, open to all Newcomb and Tulane alumnae and alumni, proved to be so successful that the NAA continues to expand the number of cities hosting book clubs, offering fall and spring gatherings in selected cities.

This spring the Newcomb Book Clubs will discuss Aimee Bender's The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. Ms. Bender, the 2013 Zale-Kimmerling Writer-in-Residence, is the author of four books and numerous works of short fiction. She lives in Los Angeles and teaches creative writing at USC. Learn more about Ms. Bender and the Zale-Kimmerling Writer-in-Residence program at http://tulane.edu/newcomb/programs/zale.cfm

Alumnae living in the regions below should watch their mail and email for information about the Newcomb Book Club in their area.

  • Atlanta – April 30
  • Chicago – April 24
  • Denver – April 25
  • Boca Raton, Florida – April 4
  • Louisville – April 17
  • Memphis – April 22
  • New Orleans – March 27
  • Greater Washington DC – March 21 (Arlington VA) and April 17 (Washington DC)

Interested in hosting a future Book Club gathering, in these or other US cities? Contact the Newcomb Alumnae Office at newcombalumnae@tulane.edu.

The fall Book Club selection will be announced this summer.
