BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:

Emily Card, a graduate of Newcomb, class of 1963, has maintained a longtime commitment to lobbying for equal credit access for women. As an assistant to Senator Brock of Tennessee, she was the author of the Equal Credit Act; she also worked with HUD to assure equal access to housing. As a professor at the University of Southern California, she researched state and federal credit information. Later she continued her expertise in the area of finance and credit as a financial columnist for Ms. Magazine, a cable television talk show host, and an author. She was the host of "It's Your Money," a show on Lifetime television, emphasizing women's finances. She has written two books: Staying Solvent, written as a credit guide for women, and The Ms. Money Book.

This collection contains material on a board range of subjects (1966-1986).
