The Spanish and Portuguese Basic Language Program at Tulane University seeks to develop students’ communicative and intercultural competency and proficiency so that they can interact, engage and compete in the global community.
Use the information on this website to learn more about the program-wide objectives and common course expectations for the Basic Language Program as well as level-specific information for Spanish 1010, 1020, 1120 and 2030 and Portuguese 1120 and 2030.
ALL students who wish to enroll in a language course must complete and submit the online placement form in order to register for a language course, even if they have no prior experience in the language. The online placement form is available for all continuing and incoming students who have a valid Tulane User ID and password.
