Dr. George-Hirons is currently revising her dissertation for publication, as well as working on research projects focusing on indigenous and creole Latin American adaptations of European conceptions of the zodiac, astrology and the medieval reportorio as a literary genre. She holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Arizona, in Tucson (1998) and a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Newcomb College (1995). Her teaching interests focus on basic language acquisition as well as indigenismo and colonial Latin American cultural studies.
