Research Background

I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University. I received a separate Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Science from the College of Architecture at Texas A&M. My doctoral concentration areas included organizational and political sociology as well as urban and environmental sociology. My dissertation drew from ecostructural theory and used multilevel statistical modeling to examine the effects of corporate and community characteristics on environmental pollution. I also worked as a full time Research Associate for the Institute of Science, Technology, and Public Policy in the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M. My duties included conducting in-person interviews with elite decision makers. The interviews addressed climate change and other problems affecting coastal communities.
