Marquis joined the Tulane staff after a long career at the Bible Project at Hebrew University, which is producing a critical edition of the Hebrew text of the Bible based on the famous Aleppo Codex and a comprehensive compilation of variant readings in ancient translations and early Hebrew manuscripts. He is a recognized expert on the Hebrew Bible and the Septuagint, and had his book Explicit Literary Allusions in Biblical Historiography accepted publication.
