GESS Summer Elective

PHIL 3930-01: Gender & Horror
"Mommy Didn't Hug Me Enough
"
This course will examine issues in the philosophy of art, film, and gender as they intersect in horror films. Using some canonical texts, we will attempt to analyze horror films in terms of what they can tells us about gender and the social order of our day.

Minor

A minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies consists of a minimum of 18 credits. Two courses are required:

  • GESS 290, Introduction to Gender and Sexuality Studies
  • GESS 355, Identity, Difference, and Inequality

The remaining courses must be selected from among those approved by the Gender and Sexuality Studies Program with not all courses selected from the same discipline. Courses applied to the student's major field of study may not be applied toward the Gender and Sexuality Studies minor.
