Tobacco is an important issue for ALL college students whether or not they smoke or use chew/spit tobacco. About one-third of college students smoke, and many others are affected by second and third-hand smoke because they might live with someone who smokes, work in a smoke-filled environment or socialize in establishments that permit smoking. Tobacco impacts students' health, energy levels and finances. However, students might be unaware of all the effects tobacco has on their lives or the supports available to help them quit.
Beginning August 1, 2014 Tulane University will be a Tobacco and Smoke Free Community. A history of Tobacco Policy at Tulane can be found by clicking here.
In addition, theWELL offers comprehensive Tobacco Cessation Services free of charge for Tulane students, faculty, and staff.
