Healthy Tulane Coalition Membership

Position Title:  Coalition Member

Purpose:  to be an active participant of the Healthy Tulane Coalition.  The committee member shall participate in the planning, implementation and promotion of prevention initiatives to improve the health of the Tulane Community.  The committee member shall be actively engaged with the development and implementation of the work of the committee.

 General Membership Responsibilities

• Attend coalition meetings. (one meeting per semester)
• Support vision and mission statement of the Healthy Tulane Coalition
• Promote and recruit coalition supporters and members
• Bring back Healthy Tulane efforts to your department and/or sector in which you represent
• Consider others' point of view and make constructive suggestions
• Represent the coalition to individuals, the public and other organizations

Time Commitment

• Recommend one academic year membership for students
• Recommend two academic year membership for faculty/staff

Workgroup Membership Responsibilities

• Support the committee chairperson with setting meetings, preparing agendas and shaping the specific work of the committee in relation to the broad mission of the coalition as required.
• Will serve as the committee's reporter of information back to the full coalition when requested by the committee chair or coalition chair
• Participate in the identification, selection, and promotion of innovative healthy lifestyle activities on Tulane University campus

Leadership Membership Responsibilities

• Serve as a member to the Healthy Tulane Steering Committee
• Responsible for setting meetings, preparing agendas and shaping the specific work of the workgroup in relation to the broad mission of the Healthy Tulane Coalition
• Will serve as the work group's reporter of information back to the full Healthy Tulane Coalition
• Become knowledgeable about the goals and issues surrounding the Healthy Tulane Coalition mission
