Tulane’s School of Medicine offers courses to become an EMT-Basic in the fall and spring semesters. These classes take place in the Tulane Medical Center in Downtown New Orleans. Classes are also offered at Delgado community College in the fall, spring and summer. These classes will teach you all you need to know to become an EMT and guide you through the application and testing process to become nationally certified.
TEMS works closely with New Orleans EMS for all ALS needs for those patients that need the experience and resources of a paramedic service. New Orleans EMS allows EMTs to ride along on their ambulance through their VIGOR program. All TEMS members are required to ride along with 911 ambulances to gain exposure to ALS calls and better serve the Tulane Community. More information can be found on the New Orleans EMS website.
