If you are looking to request TEMS to stand by at an event, please call us at 504-865-5868
Tulane EMS currently operates 2 Type III ambulances, one supervisor sprint vehicle, and a disaster trailer. Due to the increase in call volume and demand for medical transport, TEMS requested a third unit and will welcome Unit 70 in September. Unit 70 will be a state of the art new Braun Express. Braun models are known to be the “Cadillac of all ambulances” and surpass any other model in the market. The acquisition of Unit 70 will ensure that Tulane EMS can respond to even more calls and depend less on New Orleans EMS for our patients. Unit 70 will be showcased at the National EMS Expo in New Orleans this October.
Our first ambulance, Unit 10, was a Ford van conversion. Since then, our fleet consists of all Type III ambulances to accommodate to the needs of the community. Today, Tulane EMS has Units 50 and 60 in service and serving the uptown community around the clock. In 2011, Tulane EMS welcomed the addition of Unit 15, a converted Honda Ridgeline as a Supervisor Sprint Vehicle. This is TEMS’ first sprint vehicle and allows for an even quicker response time and respond to other emergency calls while all other units are busy on a call.
TEMS also has a fully-equipped disaster trailer, Unit 899, in the event of any disaster to assist in the City and State’s Emergency Response. Unit 899 carries medical supplies and equipment that can be used by Paramedics and Physicians that assist in times of disaster. Our Disaster Trailer has proved to be a valuable asset, especially during the catastrophic events caused by Hurricane Katrina.
