Commenecement stage layoutTulane has been able to work with the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Event Producers to increase the seating area for the Unified Commencement program. We are now able to offer each graduate 16 tickets, one for him or her, and 15 for friends and family. Graduates can access tickets on this website. Graduates will need their Tulane user IDs and passwords to access tickets.

We are delighted to be able to offer additional tickets, but want to be clear that some of the additional seats available under this new configuration will have limited sightlines of the stage. In order to give people in those seats the best view possible, we are adding several video screens.

For those who are unable to attend the ceremony, it will be streamed live through the Commencement website.

We know the ticket issue has raised a lot of questions. We want to remind you that tickets are necessary this year due to the popularity of our keynote speaker, His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Tulane Commencement is a private event for our graduates and their invited guests; the general public is not invited. By making this a ticketed event we ensure that our graduates and their families and friends will be accommodated and that the appropriateness of the ceremony will be maintained.

We also want to remind people that while the Superdome has a capacity of 70,000+ for football and basketball games, the configuration for an event that takes place on a stage is much smaller. A certain portion of the Dome will be behind the stage with no view of the stage itself or any of the video screens; therefore the number of tickets we are distributing is smaller than the overall capacity of the Dome.

Finally, there are no ticket requirements for the individual diploma ceremonies.
