Prize honors successful economist

Stefano Barbieri, a leading scholar in the study of economic issues concerning government and the public sector, is the 2011 recipient of the Larry Schloss Prize for Excellence in Economics.

The award is given annually to a faculty member or student at Tulane who makes the greatest contribution in our understanding of this branch of social science.

In his research, Barbieri, an associate professor in the Tulane Department of Economics, is “trying to understand how the different features of the way in which people interact end up helping or hurting them.” More...
