MINORITY MEDICAL STUDENT AWARD PROGRAM (MMSAP)

Who is eligible? Minority medical students from the United States or Canada who are enrolled in a DO, MD, or MD/PhD program.

The award consists of a $5,000 stipend; travel allowances to the American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting; complimentary subscriptions to Blood, the official journal of ASH, and The Hematologist, ASH's newsletter.

Application Deadline: Request a Mentor Deadline is January 4, 2013 and the Application deadline is March 8, 2013.

PISACANO LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION

The Pisacano Scholars Leadership program is designed to provide educational programs, leadership training, and funding to reimburse a portion of medical-school-related debt.  Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding medical students for a four-year period.  Students who have made a commitment to the field of family medicine and who will enter their fourth year in medical school in the fall of 2013 may apply.  The PLF will award scholarships with a maximum value of $28,000 each for the 2013-2014 academic year.

The application deadline: applications must be received by March 1, 2013 to be considered.

CHINESE AMERICAN PHYSICIANS SOCIETY

Who is eligible?  Needy medical students from various races.

Award amount:  The awards consist of four scholarships of $2,000 to $4,000.

Appilcation Deadline:  March 29, 2013.
