INCOMING AND CONTINUING STUDENTS 2013-2014 APPLICATION TIME FRAMES

INCOMING STUDENTS: In late February or early March 2013, you are encouraged to complete your 2013-2014 FAFSA and your 2013-2014 School of Medicine Financial Aid Addendum, but in order to receive an offer of aid prior to May 15, 2013, it is recommended that you have them completed prior to March 15, 2013. SUMMER WORKSHOP AND APPLICATION INFORMATION (MD/MPH students only)

A Summer Financial Aid Workshop was held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at noon in room 1210. The purpose of this workshop is to explain the summer financial aid process, which is a bit different than the fall and spring semesters. Students wanting summer financial aid should complete a 2013 Summer Addendum. In order to receive your aid in a timely manner, we recommend that the Summer Addendum be turned in by April 15, 2013; however, the deadline for turning in the Summer Addendum is Friday, June 14, 2013. For your convenience, you can review the PowerPoint presentation that was used at the workshop.

Entrance Interview

Per federal regulations, all first time William D. Ford Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan borrowers and all first time Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan borrowers must complete an Entrance Interview which acknowledges the borrower's rights and responsibilities under the Federal Direct Loan program. The entrance interview requirement must be completed on line at the Department of Education web site.

FOURTH-YEAR STUDENTS ONLY

Residency and Relocation Loans are NON EDUCATIONAL CONSUMER LOANS that are available directly from your respective lenders to provide you with additional funds to travel for interviews, as well as provide funds for you to move after graduation. Since these loans are not educational student loans, University Financial Aid does NOT have a role in the processing of this loan. You apply directly to your lender and the funds are sent directly to you.
