Both students and parents need a PIN to electronically sign the application. Get ready to file online by obtaining your PIN. Beginning May 10, 2015, students, parents, and borrowers will be required to use an FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to access certain U.S. Department of Education websites. The FSA ID will replace the Federal Student Aid PIN that you use today to confirm your identity when accessing your financial aid information and electronically signing your Federal Student Aid documents. Until May 10, you should continue to use your Federal Student Aid PIN. Get more details about the FSA ID.
The Tulane code is 002029 for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Each year the FAFSA becomes available online January 1st and remains available for 18 months thereafter. For example, the 2014-15 FAFSA is available online 01/01/14-06/30/15, and the 2015-16 FAFSA is available online 01/01/15-06/30/16.
SPECIAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2015-2016 FAFSA: The FAFSA for the next academic year (July 1, 2015- June 30, 2016) is available online now. The worksheet gives you a preview of the questions asked, and will help you gather the information you need before starting the online application.
Please note that Tulane's suggested deadline for FAFSA completion varies by student population, but in most cases is months before the academic year commences. Those whose FAFSA's are completed after Tulane's applicable suggested deadline may be considered for the type of aid requiring FAFSA completion if the student is otherwise eligible and funds remain available. In any event, the FAFSA must be received prior to Tulane's aid processing deadline (which is four weeks before the end of the academic period for which aid is intended, or the student's last date of attendance, whichever comes first).
