Utilities Infrastructure is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems; plumbing systems; the power plant; and heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems and controls.  Utilities Infrastructure includes:

• Machine Shop
• Plumbing Shop
• Power Plant
• Refrigeration and Instrumentation Shop - Heating and Cooling
  
  

Machine Shop and Welding

Location:
Facilities Services Building, 1st Floor

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Machine Shop performs maintenance and repair in all campus buildings of mechanical systems:.

• Steam lines, steam traps, chilled water lines
• Air handlers
• Chilled water pumps, heating hot water pumps, outside sump pumps, fire pumps, condensate pumps
• Boilers
• Chillers
• Cooling towers
• Metal fabrication
  

Plumbing Shop

Location:
Facilities Services 1st floor

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Asst. Supervisor: Chuck Fox

The Plumbing Shop performs plumbing maintenance and repair on all campus buildings of

• Sinks, toilets, urinals
• Sewer lines; water lines; vacuum and air lines; gas lines; gas barbecue pits
• Sump pumps, hot water circulating pumps
• Water heaters, floor furnaces
• Air conditioning drains
• Water softeners, water distillation equipment
• Sprinkler systems

Refrigeration and Instrumentation Shop –
Heating and Cooling

Location:  Basement of J.L. House

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Refrigeration/Instrumentation shop maintains:

• Window units
• Direct expansion (DX or package) air conditioning systems
• Water coolers
• Refrigeration equipment
• Chilled water units
• Central plant system refrigeration equipment
• Controls for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
• Thermostats
