Volunteer with Press St. Gardens and support urban farming and food sustainability efforts!

Press Street Gardens is an urban farm and outdoor learning laboratory funded by The NOCCA Institute, the nonprofit partner of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Here is a list of some of what they do:

  • They grow fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, which are used by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students in their classroom training
  • help NOCCA faculty incorporate the gardens into their arts, science, humanities, and health education lessons
  • provide produce to Press Street station and sell it to local residents and businesses.

We have a limit of 15 spaces available for students. The event will first be open to registration the first week for the Get Engaged RLC, then the event will be open to registration by the general Tulane community.

If you are interested in helping out, the shift at Press Street Gardens will last from 10 AM to 1 PM. We will meet at the steps of Reily Student Recreation Center at 9:15 AM. The return bus will pick us up from Press Street at 1 PM.

Email swhitta1@tulane.edu if you have questions.
