Boggs Fellows Roundtable

Meredith Beers is a consultant with a focus in emergency management and environmental, health and safety. She was formerly a Women's Research & Education Institute (WREI) Congressional Policy Fellow in the office of US Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, Smithsonian National Zoo Emergency Preparedness Intern, and worked for FTI Consulting. Her Newcomb and Tulane volunteer service include participating in the Young Alumni Development Task Force, Career Wave Panelist, 5 year Reunion Chair, Former TAA board member, and Newcomb-Tulane College Representative. Her community service involvement includes: Junior League of New Orleans, Kappa Alpha Theta scholarship reading committee, Girls on the Run New Orleans, New Orleans Junior Committee, and Network Voluntours Board Vice-Chair.

Dena Lagomarsino was the 2017 Lindy Boggs Fellow with Women's Congressional Policy Institute in Washington, DC. She worked as a legislative fellow in the office of Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21), the chair of the Democratic Women's Working Group and co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues. Dena is a sociology doctoral candidate in Tulane University’s City, Culture, and Community program. Prior to coming to Tulane, she received her Master’s degree in Sociology of Education at New York University, taught high school language arts in Jersey City, and studied and taught in South Africa. Her research interests include LGBTQ students and educators, cultural trauma, and sexual violence.
