Bio: Denise Frazier is Assistant Director for the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South at Tulane University. An interest in Cuban politics and African Diaspora culture within Latin America led her to New Orleans where she received an MA and Ph.D. in Latin American Studies at Tulane University.

NCI partners with Friends of Ngong Road (ngongroad.org), a Kenya and US-based non-profit organization, to help run a summer camp for school-age children each year. For many of the campers, camp provides access to food and safe shelter over the summer in addition to fun and community. The organization supports children by providing for their education; their fundraising efforts go toward paying school fees, providing supplies, and encouraging the personal development of students in primary and secondary school.
