Deborah Love

Deborah joined Tulane University on October 1, 2004, as the Vice President, Office of Institutional Equity and Special Assistant to the President on Diversity Initiatives. Prior to her appointment at Tulane, she served as the Associate Vice President for Diversity and Equal Opportunity at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, from February 2002 to October 2004.  Love also held the position Director, Center for Human Rights at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington from 1996 to 2002.
 
Other professional appointments include: Director of Equal Opportunity & Regulatory Compliance Office at the University of Mississippi, 1994 to 1996; Assistant to the Dean, University of Mississippi, School of Law, 1993 to 1994.  Associate at the Bonner Law Firm, Gulfport, Mississippi, 1992, Deborah’s notable accomplishments and appointments include Captain in the United States Army, Military Police Corps and Chief Administrative Officer.
 
Love received her Bachelor’s Degree from Jackson State University.  She earned her Juris Doctor from the University Of Mississippi, School of Law.  She completed the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Management Development Program. In addition, she is a graduate of the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Bryn Mawr Summer Leadership Institute, 2008.

Ms. Wendy Stark joined the Office of Institutional Equity in April 2011.  Ms. Stark graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 1995.  Ms. Stark earned her Juris Doctorate from Paul M. Hebert Law Center, LSU in 2001, graduating in the top twenty percent of her class. While attending LSU Law Center, Ms. Stark served as the Vice-President and President of the Women’s Legal Association. Prior to joining the Office of Institutional Equity, Ms. Stark worked as a defense attorney for a prominent New Orleans law firm devoting her practice to labor and employment issues. Ms. Stark has authored numerous articles involving emerging issues affecting civil rights, Title VII, and related laws including having been a featured author in the Louisiana Bar Journal in 2009. Ms. Stark is licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana and is admitted to practice in Louisiana’s Eastern, Middle and Western District Federal Courts and 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.


Kandace Hamilton

Ms. Kandace R. Hamilton joined the Office of Institutional Equity in October of 2012.  Ms. Hamilton graduated cum laude from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 2006.  Ms. Hamilton earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2009, graduating in the top twenty percent of her class with a concentration in Common Law, as well as earning a Civil Law certificate.  While attending Loyola, Ms. Hamilton served on the Moot Court and Trial Advocacy boards, served as a mediator to the Second City Court of New Orleans, and served as Treasurer for the Black Law Students Association.  Prior to joining the Office of Institutional Equity, Ms. Hamilton worked as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Madeline Jasmine at the Fortieth Judicial District Court in St. John the Baptist Parish.  Ms. Hamilton also worked in the areas of contract law, workers’ compensation law, benefits law and alternative dispute resolution.  Ms. Hamilton is licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana.


Aleshia Butler

Aleshia Butler joined the Office of Institutional Equity in 2008. She holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She currently serves as the Program Coordinator where she monitors recruitment and retention, performs data analysis and is a liaison between departments. She also supports Vice President under the guidelines established by the OFCCP to ensure equal employment opportunity on the bases of race, color, national origin, religion, and sex through affirmative action and nondiscrimination. She also coordinates the Preventing Workplace Harassment Training for faculty & staff.


Terina Walker

Terina joined the Office of Institutional Equity in May of 2013 as the Executive Secretary. She oversees the general office operations for OIE, performs Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and manages scheduling, correspondence and travel planning for the Vice President of OIE. Prior to joining OIE, Terina worked as an administrative assistant at Xavier University and ITT Technical Insitute in Oakland, CA. Terina received her B.S. in Political Science from Southern University at New Orleans in 2012.


Tracey DeSoto

Tracey has been the Project Assistant at the Office of Institutional Equity since July 2012. She manages the daily operations of the investigations unit and also assists the rest of the office with many other tasks. Tracey is a Sophomore, at Tulane's School of Continuing Studies pursuing a B.A. in Digital Design. Prior to joining OIE, Tracey has worked as a Medical Assistant at a gastroenterologist's office and also worked at Frilot, L.L.C. as the Project Assistant.

Danny Muraida began working at the Office of Institutional Equity in November of 2011. Currently a junior in Tulane’s School of Science and Engineering, Mr. Muraida is currently pursuing a degree in Engineering Physics. Prior to his time at Tulane University Danny worked at Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard in Elmendorf Texas doing technological consulting and assisting the wait staff in the kitchen. He also plays a variety of instruments teaching lessons in percussion on his time off from school.
