Emergency Communication Systems


In addition to Tulane's Alert Line and Emergency Notices website, the university has created means to contact Tulane students, faculty and staff in emergency situations.


Alerts for Students

In the event of an emergency or impending threat, Tulane will send critical voice and text messages to our students at multiple telephone and e-mail addresses.

To ensure that Tulane has accurate and current contact information in the Office of the Registrar records, students should update their phone number(s) through the online TOUR system.

To correct a tulane.edu e-mail address in the Global Address List, send corrections to HelpU 24.7 by e-mailing info@tulane.edu or calling 504-862-8888.

Following an emergency, which would displace students from campus, the university will provide updated information on the Emergency Notices website.


Alerts for Employees

In the event of an emergency or impending threat, Tulane will send critical voice and text messages to our employees at multiple telephone and e-mail addresses.

To ensure that Tulane has accurate and current contact information in the Workforce Management Organization records, employees should update their off-campus information (e.g., home address, home phone, cell phone, non-Tulane e-mail) through the confidential online form.


NOTE: This information will be used only in an emergency to send official university communications and does not alter employees' university directory information as done through the PPI.

Following an emergency, which would displace employees from campus, the university will activate a call-in registry for employees as well as provide updated information on the Emergency Notices website.


Updates for Parents

Parents who are interested in receiving periodic updates about the university, such as emergency information and notification of special events that might be of interest, should sign up for the Parents Listserv.
