Can I turn off spam management?

The spam messages that are evaluated at the gateway to have a spam confidence level (SCL) of 7 or more are automatically deleted at the gateway and not delivered to your Inbox.

You can ensure that all remaining messages are delivered to your inbox by disabling Junk Box handling for your account.

To configure your spam management options:

  1. Login to your email at http://outlook.com.
  2. Select the Options link at the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Select Junk E-Mail from the menu in the left-hand column.

How can I stop spam messages from collecting in my Inbox?

Alumni Email for Life offers you several approaches to prevent spam messages from collecting in your inbox:

  • By default, the Alumni Email for Life mailbox already has junk email filtering enabled. Any email that is evaluated with a spam confidence level (SCL) of 4 to 6 will be delivered directly to your Junk Box.
  • You can block specific senders by including their email address in your Blocked Senders list.
  • You can block entire groups of senders by specifying a particular email domain.
  • You can maintain a list of Safe Senders; you may specify individual email addresses or entire domains.
  • You can opt to include all your contacts as Safe Senders.
  • You also have the option of receiving email only from those on your Safe Senders list.

To configure your spam management options:

  • Login to your Alumni Email for Life.
  • Select the Options link at the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  • Select Junk E-Mail from the menu in the left-hand column.
