Faculty and Staff WaveMail Migration |
View the Flow Chart Graphic of the process: WaveMail Migration Guide
Faculty and Staff who are eligible* for WaveMail are encouraged to migrate with their departments, with the assistance of Technology Services.
If you prefer to self-migrate, follow the instructions below. Be certain to check with your supervisor to ensure you do not use any shared resources that will not be accessible in WaveMail. Once you have activated WaveMail, that action cannot be undone.
What do you need to do?
Before you begin, determine if you will self migrate or have Technology Services automate your migration. Departmental accounts and Resource Accounts must be scheduled for automated migration using the form linked below.
If you choose to have Technology Services automate your migration, fill out the web form and you will receive instructions via email. This form can be used by individuals or departments: http://riptide.me/Vs
If you choose to self-migrate, please go to the Email Setup Page for complete instructions.
*Special Note for CommVaultl, Blackberry, and HIPAA users:
CommVault customers will be contacted separately. These customers require more time to ensure a transparent migration because additional preparation is required to transfer their accounts.
Departments with Blackberry users and customers with HIPAA compliance obligations cannot be moved to the WaveMail system at this time. We will announce plans for an upgraded messaging environment for these customers in Fall 2011.
