Join the AmeriCorps Summer Service program at Tulane
What is WaveCorps?
WaveCorps is a new summer service program offered by the Center for Public Service and funded in part by the Corporation for National and Community Service and AmeriCorps*VISTA. Volunteers participating in WaveCorps support organizations in New Orleans that are preventing summer learning loss in K-12 students through entertaining camps that bridge the time between the school year.
In addition to the great work you'll do with children in the New Orleans area, participants will receive a living stipend of $1750, an end of service education grant of $1000, as well as training and professional development from Tulane.
The program runs from June 3-July 27, 2014, including training and orientation sessions. If students would like to add a public service internship to their WaveCorps experience, they need to complete additional hours of service at the end of the program as well as take part in a weekly seminar at Tulane. Please inquire for further information and registration details regarding the internship option.
Applications for the Tulane WaveCorps program are now closed. Second Harvest also has a VISTA Summer Associates Program. If you are interested in their program, you should contact Melanie Hoeman at email@example.com.
Program Dates: June & July 2014
