Micro-volunteering

Microvolunteering is high-impact volunteering that can be done in small bits of time. It is broken down into convenient tasks that can be accomplished whenever the volunteer has time, and are often completed on personal computers or cell phones. For example, a non-profit needs help and asks a large group for assistance. Micro-volunteers are not trained or reviewed by a manager; rather, the network of micro-volunteers assesses the quality of each other’s work. Micro-volunteers that have the time, interest, and skills select specific tasks and work to accomplish these tasks for the non-profit. The following are examples of micro-volunteering tasks: answering questions, researching subjects, creating logos, and editing videos.
