Public Service Internship Program - Overview

Internships are, by far, the best way for students to gain the necessary skills needed to perform successfully in today's competitive, professional environments. Long gone are the days when a degree in hand was all that was needed to land a great job after graduation. These days, employers are looking for experienced personnel. The Tulane Center for Public Service Internship Program provides students with this competitive advantage by offering them the opportunity to build upon their skills and abilities through intensive community-based work.

Program entrance requirements:

  • Open to upperclassmen (juniors and seniors)
  • Must have already completed the 1st tier of the public service graduation requirement
  • Have a major and/or minor in a participating department (click here for list)
  • Possess a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Secure an unpaid internship with one of our community partners
  • Complete 60 to 70 hours of service over the course of the semester
  • Attend a weekly internship seminar
