Tulane students may satisfy their second tier graduation
requirement by completing a public service honors thesis 
or independent study.  An honors thesis or independent
study is a student initiated, faculty sponsored course within
the students major department.  Public service options must
include a collaborative partnership between the student and
the community. 

Once a student's independent study or honors thesis is 
approved for academic credit by the faculty sponsor and department, the student may petition
for it to also receive public service credit.  For more
