Service is an integral part of the 'college experience' and emphasis is placed on connecting students at Tulane University and schools from around the country to the New Orleans community effectively. This is accomplished through a variety of service programming and experiences which,

• Respect student interests and leadership through student organizations and projects.
• Encourage student involvement and retention.
• Advance diversity among the student participants.
• Maintain community agency and student satisfaction in volunteer projects and activities.
• Promote networking and collaboration among student organizations and community agencies. 

During the 2007-2008 academic year, Tulane students volunteered over 23,000 hours of service in the New Orleans community through community service activities. Join this growing community of passionate and engaged students.  Please contact us for more information about community service or if you do not see a project or program that meet your needs and you would like to start your own project or be placed individually.
