Descriptions: The mission of Arthur Ashe Charter School is to prepare all students academically while developing their character so they will excel at a high school with rigorous academics and graduate from a four-year college. Ashe Scholars believe in Achievement, Community, Excellence and Self, and we think they're A.C.E.S.! Arthur Ashe Charter School moved into a new campus this year. Located in Gentilly, this state-of-the-art building comes with a great library. We are seeking an intern to manage the library: ? Cataloging and shelving ? Book acquisitions ? Library management system development ? Training students to check books in and out ? Working with teachers to maximize their use of the library Qualifications: The intern should have an interest in working with children, exemplify excellent communication & organization skills, and be accepting of critical feedback and deadlines. Teaching or library experience preferred. Criminal background check required.
Product of Partnership: Fully functional Library Management System, organized and stocked bookshelves, ease of use for students and faculty.
Final Product Special Instructions:The intern will be present at the school on a regular schedule for 60-70 hours during the semester (about 5 hours/week). Intern will report to Sivi Domango, Director.
